These grilled peaches with mascarpone are the kind of dessert that feels effortlessly beautiful and tastes even better than it looks. Warm, juicy peaches with those lovely caramelised edges, creamy mascarpone, and a drizzle of honey come together in a way that feels simple, elegant, and completely irresistible. If you are looking for an easy dessert that feels a little special without asking much from you, this is such a lovely one to make. It is sweet, fresh, and exactly the kind of treat that makes summer fruit shine.

Note from Ana

I already declared my love for peaches in my Fresh Peach Ice Cream, so it only feels right to share another peach recipe that is simple, beautiful, and honestly far too delicious for how little effort it takes.

If you have never grilled peaches before, you truly have no idea what you are missing. Something almost magical happens when a peach hits the heat. The natural sugars start to caramelise, the fruit softens, the flavour deepens, and suddenly the peach tastes even more peachy than before; warmer, sweeter, juicier, and just a little bit dramatic in the best possible way. The edges get those lovely golden charred marks, the inside turns soft and luscious, and the whole thing feels like summer decided to show off.

That is exactly why my family loves this recipe so much. It takes beautiful ripe peaches and turns them into a dessert that feels a little bit fancy, but is actually wonderfully easy. Then you add that creamy mascarpone on top, a drizzle of honey, maybe a little mint, and somehow it all tastes like something you would be served at a lovely restaurant while pretending you are the kind of person who always orders dessert.

I love recipes like this because they let the fruit do most of the work. There is no heavy baking, no complicated prep, no long list of ingredients. Just peaches, a little heat, something creamy, and a few simple finishing touches. And yet when you put it on the table, everyone looks at it like you have made a proper effort, which I always appreciate.

This is the kind of dessert I love making when peaches are in season and too beautiful to ignore. It feels fresh and light, but still special enough for guests. And if I am being honest, it is also the kind of dessert that makes you feel very clever, because grilling fruit somehow looks much more impressive than it actually is.

Best,

Ana

Why you’ll love this recipe

Main ingredients:
This recipe is made with just a few beautiful ingredients; ripe peaches, mascarpone, honey, vanilla, and a little mint, but together they create a dessert that feels simple, elegant, and so much more special than the effort it takes.

How it’s made:
The peaches are halved, lightly brushed with butter, and grilled until soft and caramelised around the edges. Then they are topped with a creamy mascarpone mixture and finished with a drizzle of honey. It is easy, quick, and exactly the kind of dessert that looks impressive without being complicated.

Flavours:
These grilled peaches are warm, juicy, sweet, and full of deep peach flavour, with those lovely caramelised notes that make them taste even richer and more irresistible. The mascarpone brings a cool, creamy softness, the honey adds extra sweetness, and together it all feels fresh, summery, and just a little bit dreamy.

How to serve

Serve these grilled peaches warm, straight from the grill, with a generous spoonful of mascarpone on top and a little extra honey drizzled over if you like. I love serving them just as they are for a simple dessert, but they are also lovely with a crisp biscuit on the side, a few toasted nuts, or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you want to make them feel a little more indulgent. They are perfect after a summer meal, especially when you want dessert to feel special without being too heavy.

Tips for Success

  • The biggest tip here is to use ripe but still firm peaches. You want them sweet and full of flavour, but not so soft that they fall apart the moment they hit the grill. A peach that gives slightly when you press it is usually just right.
  • Make sure the grill is nicely heated before the peaches go on. If it is not hot enough, the fruit can stick and soften too slowly instead of getting those lovely caramelised marks. A properly heated grill gives you that beautiful contrast between the warm, juicy peach and the lightly charred edges.
  • Brush the peaches lightly with melted butter, but do not overdo it. Just enough to help prevent sticking and encourage a little colour. Too much, and they can become slippery and harder to handle.
  • When grilling, place the peaches cut-side down first and let them sit without moving them too much. That is how you get those pretty grill marks and that deeper peach flavour. Once they are nicely marked, turn them gently and finish cooking just until tender. You want them soft and juicy, not collapsing into a peach puddle.
  • For the mascarpone topping, it helps if the mascarpone is slightly softened before mixing. It will blend much more smoothly with the honey and vanilla and give you that lovely creamy texture without lumps.
  • And finally, serve them while still warm. That is when this dessert is at its best — warm peaches, cool creamy topping, a little honey on top, and all those beautiful summer flavours coming together in one bite. It is a very simple dessert, but timing and good fruit make all the difference.

Substitutions & Variations

  • This is such a lovely little dessert to play with, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. If you do not have mascarpone, you can use Greek yogurt, ricotta, or even a little whipped cream instead. Mascarpone gives the richest and creamiest finish, but the others are all beautiful in their own way.
  • If peaches are not in season, this recipe also works so nicely with nectarines, apricots, or even plums. They all soften beautifully on the grill and take on that same lovely caramelised flavour. Nectarines are probably the closest swap and are always a very safe and delicious choice.
  • For the sweetener, you can use maple syrup instead of honey if you prefer, or even a little brown sugar sprinkled over the peaches before grilling for a deeper, more caramel-like flavour. If your peaches are very sweet already, you may not need much extra at all.
  • A little cinnamon is lovely here, but you could also use a tiny pinch of cardamom or even ground ginger if you want a slightly different feel. And if you want the dessert to feel a bit more grown-up, a tiny splash of bourbon or amaretto in the mascarpone mixture can be really lovely too.
  • You can also change the topping depending on the mood. A handful of toasted almonds, pistachios, or granola on top adds a bit of crunch, which works so well with the soft peaches and creamy mascarpone. And if you want to make it even more indulgent, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side is never a bad idea.
  • If you do not have a grill, you can cook the peaches in a grill pan or even roast them in the oven until soft and caramelised. The flavour will be a little different, but still absolutely delicious.
  • It is one of those simple recipes that welcomes little changes so easily, and once you make it once, you will probably start thinking of all sorts of lovely versions of your own.

Storage & Reheating Tips

These grilled peaches are definitely best enjoyed fresh, while they are still warm and soft and the mascarpone is cool and creamy on top. That is when the whole dessert really feels at its loveliest.

If you do have leftovers, I would store the grilled peaches and mascarpone separately if possible. Keep the peaches in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days, and store the mascarpone topping in a separate covered container in the fridge for up to 2 days as well. Keeping them apart helps everything stay fresher and keeps the topping from becoming too loose.

To reheat the peaches, warm them gently in a pan, in the oven, or even for a few seconds in the microwave just until they are soft and lightly warmed through. You do not want them piping hot or overcooked, just nicely warm again. Then add the mascarpone after reheating, not before.

One little tip: if the mascarpone mixture has firmed up a bit in the fridge, let it sit out for a few minutes before serving so it softens slightly and becomes nice and creamy again.

This is one of those desserts that can still be enjoyed the next day, but for the very best texture and that lovely warm-and-cool contrast, fresh is definitely the winner.
